Pottery Studio Practice, Kiln Use and Glaze Making Course for Art Teachers and artists with their own studio at Kinsale Pottery and Arts Centre.
Kinsale Pottery and Arts Centre are running two information-packed one-day courses for art teachers and artists with their own studios. The courses are designed to help those who have responsibility for operating a kiln, running a pottery studio, buying pottery materials and teaching children about pottery to expand their understanding and pick up loads of tips.
The one-day course will include:
- Stacking and firing kilns, including firing cycles, programming controllers and setting timers
- Making basic kiln repairs – changing elements
- Glazes and glaze making – students will make glazes
- Sensible projects which work well with large groups of beginners
- Other pottery equipment to acquire
- Studio maintenance – storage of materials, clay recycling
- Lots of Q&A

Saturday 5 July, 10am – 4pm
Price: The one-day course costs €150 per person (€280 for two people) including teas and coffees and VAT. Bring a facemask!
