Deadline: Various in April and May 2025
The Department of Arts in Health & Education at Crawford College of Art & Design, MTU, is now welcoming applications for its part-time MA in Arts and Engagement, beginning September 2025.
This dynamic and flexible programme supports artists, educators, community workers, and health professionals in cultivating a practice grounded in meaningful arts engagement across a range of social contexts. With a strong emphasis on arts-based research and reflective practice, the MA offers a unique opportunity to develop a personalised pathway through a series of elective modules.
Standalone Certificate awards are available in:
- Arts and Wellbeing – Explore creative practices that promote personal and collective wellbeing in educational, community, and health settings.
- Eco Arts Practice – Engage with ecological themes and place-based creative practices that respond to environmental concerns.
- Creativity & Change – Learn how the arts can inspire activism, inclusion, and global citizenship through participatory and transformative approaches.
- Principles of Art Therapy – Gain an introduction to art therapy theory and methods, ideal for those interested in therapeutic or care-based contexts.
Participants can pursue these as part of the MA or as independent professional development options. The course encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, critical thinking, and a deep exploration of materials, environments, and group processes.
Whether you’re looking to expand your existing practice or take your first steps into the field, Crawford’s Arts in Health & Education programmes provide a supportive and innovative learning environment.
