The Ark is a cultural centre for children based in the centre of Dublin. This winter their programme features several events for early years, from interactive theatre workshops to sensory adventures.

A music workshop for children and their grown ups featuring a mix of original songs in Irish and English, alongside much-loved children’s folk songs from around the world in a variety of languages. The workshop is led by musician Ríona Sally Hartman

Bees
Dates –
Saturday 3 Oct @ 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 4pm
Sunday 4 Oct @ 11am, 1.30pm & 2.30pm
Duration – 30 mins
Cost – Free
Presented in partnership with Dublin Theatre Festival, Bees by Polyglot Theatre is an interactive workshop where children are welcomed into a world of community, communication, wonder, and imagination, as three human-sized Bees busy themselves in the creation of a community. Children can follow the performers, play alongside them, transform into bees, or simply watch the action unfold.

The Bear’s Garden

A journey of stories, nature, making and imagination fore children and their grown-ups. Join visual artist Órla Kelly for a magical sensory adventure where the garden comes to life through storytelling, puppetry, making and play.

The Tiny Tree Folk & The Magic Tree

Combining drama, story, play, tiny people, acorns, leaves and a magic tree, this interactive workshop invites children and their accompanying grown-up to join in the story and play together. Led by artist Joanna Parkes, the second recipient of the John Coolahan Early Years Artist in Residency at The Ark in 2019.

All The Red Things

Children and their grown-ups are invited to explore the joys of red and make their own vibrant fabric book in this collage and poetry workshop for very young artists. This workshop is led by children’s writer Juliette Saumande who loves using words, stories and books to help children (re)discover and grow their creativity.
