Ticket Booking Now Open for 2026 National Portal Day!

Our 11th National Arts in Education Portal Day takes place on Saturday 7 November 2026 at East Quad, TU Dublin, in partnership with the School of Art and Design.
This free, full-day event brings together professionals from the arts and education sectors to connect, exchange ideas, learn from one another, build networks, find inspiration, and explore best practices for using arts and creativity in education.
This year’s event explores the theme “The Future is Creative: Why arts and creativity in education matter more than ever”, with a panel discussion, creative workshops and presentations throughout the day.
The event will open with a panel discussion chaired by Arts in Education Portal board member and Community and Education Manager at the Abbey Theatre, Phil Kingston. The panellists are Jo Mangan, Director of The Performance Corporation; Nathan Geszczak, a young person with a strong passion for the arts; Kate O’Shea, a multidisciplinary socially engaged artist; and Suzanne Little, Professor in the School of Computing at Dublin City University.
After the panel, participants can engage with a range of inspirational presentations and creative workshops over three parallel sessions. Some highlights include: talks from our 2026 Portal Documentation Award recipients including Playspaces: a collaboration between artist Chris Finnegan, Cork Midsummer Festival and three Múin Afterschool centres in Cork City; and Orpheus in the Garden: a Music Network project led by composer Dee Isaacs in collaboration with two Dublin DEIS schools.
This year’s creative workshops include Houseplant Horror: Sound Foley as Creative Practice with artist Isabel Gill; and Soft Day: a workshop with artist Susan Leen exploring rain as a creative lens for engaging with climate change in education.
ISL interpretation is available on request. Please submit your request before Wednesday 28 October.
The full programme will be released on Wednesday 14th October.
