Clare Education Centre

Clare Education Centre supports the arts in education through the provision of opportunities for professional development for teachers, engagement in projects, promotion of STEAM activities and hosting classes for enjoyment in art, painting, music and drama.

Clare Education Centre actively promotes the CRAFTed initiative where a local craftsperson provides a craft and design programme in primary schools where pupils can engage in a hands-on ‘in classroom’ collaborative process and experience the learning and engagement in the learning process.

Clare Education Centre coordinates locally the Teacher - Artist Partnership (TAP) arts in education initiative that trains teachers and artists to work collaboratively together to provide a 20 hour residency in an area of the Arts in the teachers class.

Under the auspices of Clare Education Centre, schools are encouraged and facilitated to participate in the Creative Clusters initiative, which allows clusters of schools to identify an area of the Arts that they wish to develop in their schools and to carry out this project as a group with the support of an experienced Arts facilitator.

The STEAM project at Clare Education Centre, encourages and supports schools in active engagement with STEAM initiatives through modelling, peer teaching, demonstrations and active discovery.

In addition to the provision of continued professional development courses for teachers in areas of the arts, Clare Education Centre also provides art classes for pleasure.
