!!!! Opportunity for Primary Schools: Ireland’s National School Photography Awards
Ireland’s National School Photography Awards
Closing date: 31 March 2026
The Ireland’s National School Photography Awards (INSPA) are once again open to all Primary Schools in the Republic of Ireland. INSPA is a national children’s photography competition which introduces Creative Well-being into the lives of primary schools by engaging with the magic and art of photography.
This year’s theme: “Landscapes & Legends” is a playful invitation for primary school communities to see Ireland not just as a place, but as a storybook full of mystery, beauty, and imagination. From whispering woods and stormy skies to hidden hillsides and ancient stone walls, Ireland is a land rich in natural wonder and timeless tales. Through the magic and art of photography, pupils are encouraged to capture both the real and the legendary blending what they see with what they dream.
A tree that might be hiding a fairy world…
A field that looks like a sleeping giant’s bed…
A cliff where sea and sky meet like something from a myth..
Or just a moment of beauty that sparks joy, calm, or curiosity.

!!!! JCSP Libraries SNAP Photography Challenge 2025
JCSP Libraries
Deadline: 15th March 2025
JCSP Libraries have launched an exciting SNAP Photography Challenge, running until 15th March. This inclusive challenge can be enjoyed by students in post-primary JCSP/DEIS schools across all year groups. The aim is to support young people to develop their artistic practice, creativity, originality and self-expression through the medium of photography.
The main idea behind this initiative is to promote visual literacy and creative thinking. To take part, students are encouraged to take a daily photo inspired by daily prompt words throughout February. Students can snap photographs of people, places or things around them. The prompt list encourages students to study the world around them and to focus on visual features including texture, pattern, colour and shape. Extra resources on jcsplibraries.com will also allow students to make connections between photography and numeracy, learn new tips and tricks, and to develop their literacy with photography keywords. The challenge is very flexible: individual students, clubs or classes can participate.
The Challenge is open to students in all post-primary JCSP/DEIS schools and that winners will be selected in 3 categories:
