Baboró International Festival for Children

Baboró International Festival for Children 2025 are proud to present an extraordinary programme of theatre, dance, circus, puppetry, literature, visual art and workshops for audiences from newborns to teens. Featuring artists from Ireland and around the world, the ten-day festival brings magical moments to children across Galway city, county and beyond.

There are a number of arts in education discussions happening during the festival at the Mick Lally Theatre, Druid Lane, Galway:

Touring Performance to Schools
Reflecting on the experience of 10 years of touring theatre in schools in Scotland and the experience of Irish artists bringing performances directly into schools, this panel discussion will ask how do we create a sustainable model for this kind of touring so that every child in Ireland experiences the performing arts?

Creating Space
Hear stakeholders reflect on the impact and learnings of Creating Space, an innovative 2 year child-led arts in education residency project delivered by multi-disciplinary artist Colm Ó Foghlú in Merlin Woods Primary School for Baboró with funding from Lifes2Good Foundation and the Arts Council.
