Opportunity: Writers in Schools Scheme
The Writers in Schools Scheme part-funds visits by writers and storytellers to primary and post-primary schools throughout the island of Ireland. It is funded by the Arts Council and managed and administered by Poetry Ireland. It was established in 1977 and has given over 500,000 children an opportunity to engage with writers, sparking creativity and fostering an appreciation of language, regardless of school location or size.
