International Teaching Artist Conference (ITAC8) 
28-30 August 2026

Taking place in Antwerp, Belgium, ITAC8 brings together artists, educators and changemakers to explore how Teaching Artistry transforms learning, nurtures wellbeing and drives civic engagement – unlocking the power of the arts to shape more connected, resilient and just societies.

The ITAC8 program is now live, featuring more than 100 sessions, with 30+ workshops, performances, keynotes, panels, and conversations taking place each day.

What awaits you at ITAC8:

  • Participatory workshops, keynotes, panels, and discussions led by artists, educators, and thought leaders from around the world
  • Sessions exploring arts and education, arts and health, care, climate action, storytelling, community engagement, and civic participation
  • International performances and artistic experiences across multiple venues throughout Antwerp
  • Opportunities to exchange ideas, build relationships, and connect with colleagues from a truly global network

Across the more than 100 sessions, participants will have the opportunity to engage in workshops, performances, keynotes, and conversations, such as:

  • The Opening Keynote from Eric Booth
  • Transform Art and Science: Building Butterflies, Performing Puppets, Forming Social Connection workshop led by Katrin Ludwig
  • Feeling at Home: The Importance of Stories keynote from Winny Ang
  • The Role of Trusted Adults and Attachment in Youth Theater session led by Clara Bloomfield
  • Hauscat: Echoes of the Diaspora session led by Naide Brito
  • Non-Violence as Art keynote from Chen Alon and Sulaiman Khatib…and so much more!

ITAC8 is organised by OPENDOEK vzw, in collaboration with ITAC Collaborative, Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (part of AP University College) and Fontys Academy of the Arts.
