Oide Creativity and The Creative Ireland Programme are pleased to invite schools to apply for Play in a Day, an initiative developed by Oide Creativity for post-primary schools.

Play in a Day provides an exciting opportunity for a teacher and a professional drama facilitator to:

• collaborate and learn from each other as they co-design and co-facilitate a one-day practical drama workshop with a class of junior cycle students,
• incorporate the voice of the student in the design process,
• guide students through a collaborative and creative process, culminating in a devised play.

How is Play in a Day structured?

• A 90-minute online evening introduction for the participating teacher.
• One in-person full day of co-design with the participating teacher and assigned drama facilitator. Venue to be confirmed. (Substitution cover provided for the
  teacher).
• One in-school full day practical drama workshop with class group, participating teacher and drama facilitator. (Substitution cover provided for the teacher).
• A 90-minute online evening reflection event.

Application procedure

• Application deadline Friday 24th January 2025.
• Schools notified by Tuesday 4th February 2025.
• Play in a Day will take place between February and April 2025.
