Irish Museums Association 2026 Education and Outreach Forum
Deadline: 16 February
Have you led an educational or community engagement project that stands out and made a meaningful impact?
Do you have a compelling story to share about developing or delivering museum learning and community engagement projects with diverse audiences? Maybe a project didn’t work as expected, but offered valuable lessons; any gained insights or challenges to share that could benefit others in the sector?
Irish Museums Association (IMA) invite proposals for presentations at the 2026 Education and Outreach (Ed+O) Forum on Tuesday, 12 May 2026 in Dublin, presented by the IMA in collaboration with NI Museums Council.
They are seeking innovative presentations, of 15 mins duration (plus time for discussion), that will spark conversation within the sector and that align with one or more of the following categories:
- Discuss how you alternatively bring exhibitions and artefacts to life for different audiences, making knowledge accessible and inclusive.
- Share projects or institutional approaches that highlight your museum/organisation’s role as a space of exchange and community hub.
- Highlight how your work actively reflects and engages with your diverse communities.
In addition, ‘project surgery’ proposals are welcome. If you’re designing or delivering a project and would benefit from fresh ideas, partnerships, or input from the sector, this is your chance to seek feedback and inspiration.
Send your proposal by midnight on Monday, 16 February 2026 to programme@irishmuseums.org
